Type of Provider Desired:	(If you are uncertain as to what kind of child care you prefer, mark one choice and then ask the F.I.N.D. Care counselor for more information when he/she contacts you.) CHOICES: Family Child Care Home: Licensed child care providers offer care in their home. The provider can care for up to 8 children, depending on their ages. Child Care Center: Centers may provide care for infants. Most provide care for toddlers, pre-schoolers and school age children. Centers can be small or large and may be operated independently or by a church, school or other organization. Head Start and State Preschools: Primarily offered to low income families for children between the ages of 3 and 5. If you qualify for one of these programs, you will receive parent training, health information, meals and other social services. Most programs are half day. In-home Care: This care takes place in your home and is provided by a friend, relative, baby sitter or a nanny. This kind of care is not licensed, but you can use Trustline to find out important background information about caregivers. Call 1-800-822-8490. Home Care Providers: (License exempt) This type of provider may care for children from only one other family besides their own, in their home. There is no licensing for these providers. It is the parent's responsibility to inspect for safety and cleanliness. Trustline is available for gathering background information. Call 1-800-822-8490 Before and After School Programs: These programs are available at many elementary schools, most child care centers, and some family child care providers for parents who need to drop off children early before school begins, or provide care after school until the end of the work day. Not all are required to be licensed.
