EBT Food Stamps Scam
The California Department of Social Services (CDSS) has identified a third-party mobile application titled “Ebt edge – food stamps” in the Apple iOS App Store. This app imitates the official FIS ebtEDGE Mobile App and charges users a $4.99 weekly fee or $60 for lifetime access.
Should clients call or drop in to speak with DSS staff, clients will be informed that the “Ebt edge – food stamps” is not the official app and direct them to the official state-supported FIS ebtEDGE Mobile App, which is free to use.
Clients will be reminded not to enter personal or financial information into unverified apps. If client has downloaded the wrong app or believes they may have, they will be directed to delete immediately and download the official FIS ebtEDGE Mobile App.

El Departamento de Servicios Sociales de California (CDSS) ha identificado una aplicación móvil de terceros llamada “Ebt edge – cupones de alimentos” en la App Store de Apple. Esta aplicación imita la aplicación móvil oficial FIS ebtEDGE y cobra a los usuarios una tarifa semanal de $4.99 o $60 por acceso de por vida.
Si los clientes llaman o pasan a hablar con el personal del DSS, se les informará que “Ebt edge – cupones de alimentos” no es la aplicación oficial y los dirigirá a la aplicación móvil oficial FIS ebtEDGE respaldada por el estado , cuyo uso es gratuito.
Se recordará a los clientes que no ingresen información personal ni financiera en aplicaciones no verificadas. Si han descargado la aplicación incorrecta o creen haberla descargado, se les indicará que la eliminen inmediatamente y descarguen la aplicación móvil oficial de FIS ebtEDGE.
